Reading Tutor

About the Role:

As aReading Tutor at Braintrust Tutors, youll work with upper elementary and middle school students in a school setting to strengthen their reading comprehension, fluency, and critical thinking skills. Using our structured intervention programs and materials, youll deliver consistent, high-impact tutoring that meets each student where they are.

Tutoring Details:

  • Start Date - Mid-October
  • 12-week tutoring assignment
  • School Hours typically 8a-12p or 9a-1p
  • 3-4 days a week
  • K-5th grade
  • 45-minute sessions/small groups
  • Pay Per Day - $180 (4 sessions) or $225 (5 sessions)

What You Will Do:

  • Provide small-group in-person tutoring in reading for students in grades K-5th
  • Implement Braintrusts intervention programs as designed, using all materials with fidelity
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance and academic performance
  • Collaborate with the Braintrust Operations team and school staff to support student growth
  • Foster a supportive and engaging classroom environment that promotes focus and confidence
  • Follow school-site procedures and policies while maintaining a professional and dependable presence
  • Use provided assessments and progress monitoring tools for understanding to guide instruction
  • Manage time effectively during sessions to complete all planned instructional activities

What You Will Have:

  • Bachelors degree in Education or a related field
  • Active or expired teaching license
  • Experience with advanced reading instruction that includes morphology-based word study, vocabulary development, reading comprehension, and writing skills covering grammar, syntax, and multi-paragraph composition using a structured scope and sequence.
  • Experience working with upper elementary and middle school-aged students preferred
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Comfort navigating a school environment and collaborating with teachers and staff
  • Punctuality, professionalism, and reliability for all scheduled sessions
  • Passion for literacy and closing opportunity gaps
